A vehicle can be driven in the public places only after the car registration.
How and Where to register your new car?
You have to go to your local zonal office of transport department. Here your car to be physically inspected by a authorize officer. But for registering the car you need to fill the following documents:
- RTO form No. 20 (for registration of vehicle)
- Form 21 (sales certificate) that is issued by car dealer
- Form 22 (Road worthiness certificate) that is issued by the manufacturer
- RTO form No. 34 (For Hypothecation Endorsement) duly signed by car owner and the Attested copy of the G.I.R. no./Pan no. of financier if vehicle is bought on Hypothecation
- Attested copy of car insurance policy (it should be valid one)
- Attested copy of address proof at which vehicle is to registered
Once you get the registration number, a fee receipt is give to you and this receipt can be used as a proof of car registration application.
How to transfer your car ownership?
Following documents are required to submit at the zonal office of transport department where car is registered:
- Original car registration certificate
- RTO form no. 29 (for transfer of ownership)
- RTO form no. 30 (for transfer of ownership)
- Attested copy of buyers address proof
- Attested copy of insurance policy (it should be valid one)
- Attested copy of Pollution Under Control Certificate
How to get N.O.C (No Objection Certificate) for other states?
Following documents are required to get N.O.C for other states:
RTO form 28 (For No Objection Certificate)
- Attested copy of registration
- No road tax dues certificate from the tax-collection authority
- Valid copy of car insurance
